Ferry Crossing | Cruce en ferri

The Interisland Strait Ferry from Wellington in the North Island to Picton in the South Island takes about 3 hours. The crossing is beautiful, and we once again had perfect weather. We had the best of luck on this trip beyond the weather. Our car rental companies kept upgrading our vehicles at no charge. I decided then and there that my next car at home would absolutely have Apple Car Play! We had rented an AWD because of the possibility of snow at these lower latitudes. We did not get snow, but it sure was icy cold. After renting the car, we headed down the west coast of the island to Punakiaki. There is a stark difference between the North and South Islands of Aotearoa. The North is full of thermal wonders and volcanoes, the South is defined by a spine of Alpine mountains, fjords, and the darkest skies I have ever seen.

El ferri interinsular desde Wellington en la Isla Norte hasta Picton en la Isla Sur dura aproximadamente tres horas. El cruce es hermoso, y una vez más tuvimos un clima perfecto. Tuvimos la mejor de las suertes en este viaje más allá del clima.
